Teaser 1 - Official Teaser
My name is Daniel Lamb. And I live in hell. - Rockstar released a 42 second teaser trailer shortly after Manhunt 2 was announced on February 6th, 2007. There isn’t a more fitting term for our introduction into the world of Manhunt 2 than teaser trailer. The teaser comprised of still images animated against one another and served for our first look into the world of Daniel Lamb. The trailer would go on to foreshadow many of the events of Manhunt 2. Daniels wife could be heard screaming ‘Jesus Danny, you’re scaring me! Danny!’ while the mysterious Leo Kasper informed us briefly of Daniels past. ‘They made you sick. Remember Danny?’ The trailer ended with Daniel promising that ‘Tonight we’re all getting out’.

After the trailer premiered speculation ran wild as to what the plot of the game could be. Fuelled by hearing Dr. Pickman uttering the words 'What seest thou else in the dark backward and abysm of time?’ taken from Shakespeare's ‘The Tempest’. It was believed the games plot would in some way revolve around the control of Daniels reality, beliefs and thoughts.

Teaser 2 - Website Teaser
This teaser was only released on the official Manhunt 2 website as the intro to the site. It featured images that are now thought to be from the patient files, as featured on the website for Manhunt 2, among the images shown appear to an eyeball being pierced with a needle, several images of a brain operation, including X-Ray images of the skull.

A picture of an eerie corridor featured heavily in the teaser, giving the idea of being trapped in the asylum, the audio attached to the video is from the main teaser with Daniel's wife saying 'Danny you're scaring me, Danny!' the teaser ends with the words 'Summer 2007'.

Trailer 1 - Blackouts

The first trailer for Manhunt 2 was released on April 13th, 2007, just over 2 months after the teaser trailer was released. This was our first good look at the game in action and offered a great insight into both the game and Daniel Lamb.

It became very apparent that Daniels problems were not all internally created and were very much influenced by those whispering in his ear. Frustrated Daniel says ‘I want my past back’ while the then un-named Dr. Pickman instructs Daniel ‘You will never speak to Leo again’. Leo informs Daniel that ‘They won’t stop until we’re both dead’ both parties attempt to reassure Daniel that it would be ok, resulting in Daniel shouting ‘shut up, shut up!’ as the trailer came to an end.

Many characters were informally introduced in this trailer including the physical appearances of Leo Kasper and Dr. Whyte as well as many of the hunters. In a number of the scenes we also got a look at a few of the executions and game locations.

Trailer 2 - Escaping the Project

Released on May 31, 2007, trailer 2 starts with an alarm ringing then we see a bolt of lightning strike the top of Dixmor Asylum, knocking the power out. The then un-named Dr. Whyte says to Daniel 'Lets you and I talk' she later asks 'Do you remember the work we did?', 'Our intention was to create the perfect weapon', and ‘We were working to repair the damage when you decided to escape'. Thinking out loud, Leo says ‘Getting out was just the beginning Danny. The Project can’t let us live.’ Daniel seemingly just wakening up from a blackout unassuredly calls out for Leo.

If the first trailer was a formal introduction to Daniel then trailer 2 was our introduction to both Dr. Whyte and fellow escapee Leo Kasper. Several key cut-scenes were used when putting this trailer together and much of the overall plot is present, the main thing to come from the trailer was the announcement of a July release for the game, which was attached at the end of the trailer.

Trailer 3 - The Asylum

The final trailer was released on October 25, 2007. Since the release of the previous trailer the game had been rated Adults Only in the US and had been refused classification in the UK forcing Rockstar to edit the game to secure a Mature rating in North America.

This was the most action packed trailer yet, with very little focus on the plot and more focus on the many hunters in the game, with a member of the Legion introducing them by saying 'Our name is Legion, for we are many'. The trailer focused on Daniel and Leo’s battle against the hordes of hunters sent after them by The Project. Leo informs Daniel that ‘The Project betrayed us Danny, they ruined out lives’, unsure of the situation Daniel asks ‘Well, what are we gonna do?’ Leo assures Daniel by telling him that ‘We’re gonna fight back!’ The trailer ends with Leo saying 'Danny, listen it's a Manhunt and they won't stop until we're both dead'.
