What size were the patches?

How you finding the difficulty? Seems people are struggling to get through it. Pretty funny considered the action game snobs have typically looked down their noses at God of War combat.

Not that big but they haven't patched the game to make it more easy yet.

I'm playing on normal and up until the Trials of Archimedes this game has been a cake walk. The issue folk have is the quick difficulty spike and no checkpoints for the 3 stages of hell.

The enemy is really cheap on this part of the game and the combination of the is brutal.
I've only managed to get to almost the end of the 2nd stage before been killed. I wouldn't say it's hard just challenging. I assume the patch will add checkpoints because to be honest that's all it needs to make it a bit more easy for folk but still a challenge. The patch shouldn't effect anything above normal also. I mean you play hard and above for the challenge right? We shall see what happens.

The trial was pretty underwhelming. I thought it was leading up to some epic finisher but it kind of fizzled out to nowt.

Have they mentioned any single player dlc? I'm not interesting in the MP so i'm thinking of trading it in against Bioshock next week.

God of War 1-3 are great. Play them before this game even though this is a prequel. I really need to pick up the HD collections of the PSP titles and God of War 1 and 2. I already own them for the PS2 and Chains of Olympus for the PSP but want them all in one place on the PS3 plus my PS2 died.
Anyway have fun bro! :P

Stuff I seen about online said that maps were free but there is a version released that includes a dlc season pass so there must be single player dlc either that or it will just unlock stuff like skins and weapons or maybe even some game modes.

There was talk of GOW3 dlc, you remember that? Wonder what that was? I think it was supposed to be a different ending or something they scrapped but was basically completed.

Yeah the maps are free but the rest isn't suck as skins, weapons and so on. They could add another God to pledge alliance to. Personally I don't see single player stuff happening but I've yet to complete the game yet so maybe there will be. Either way I doubt I'll bother with the season pass or DLC for that matter as most if not all will be for the online.

The patch was released today. Here is the notes:
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/398038/god-of-war-ascension-update-released-addresses-trial-of-archimedes-difficulty/

I don't agree with it changing on higher difficulty but whatever they did I've now passed it without any issue. Didn't die once.
