Alright, see I was playing manhunt (born again) when it occured to me..

If you saw "kill this shit" on a wall, and you saw a plastic bag laying on the ground, would you pick it up, as a weapon against the hunter, know exactly what you were to do with it, and then succesfully bruttaly suffocate a hunter to death with it..

First off, how was cash able to do it so proffesionally and quick?

And secondly, He did all of this without hesitation or guilt..

Than we come to danny. Why does he kill so bruttaly and... Slow?

Well, he is completely untrained in any type of fighting skill, and leo is only active and in control of him every once and a while..

You can see he goes into it knowing what he wishes to do in order to survive, but ends up stuck in the middle and has to commit things that seem "Sadistic" in order to ensure that the hunter is dead. With Cash however, he knows exactly where to strike, when to, and how to kill the hunter as swiftly and quitely as possible..

You'll see danny, with the one PC crowbar execution, stab the hunter in the chest with it oh around six or seven times. With cash, he just stabs him in a place where death will be ensured, and just leaves it at that, which comes in handy in stealth situations..

He is just so used to killing, to just be a phycho, becuase even dexter wouldn't be so un-hesitant, talented, and knowledgable, which leads me to believe, that cash's proffesion, was death. He was similar to that of a hitman..
Makes sence, Starkweather needed fresh blood (no pun intended) he needed someone who was very tallented at murder.. One who wouldn't snap under the pressure, and one that was cold as stone..

Cash fits perfectly for his, perfect, "leading man".

I don't think he was just an ordinary serial killer. Judging by his proficiency with firearms and various different types of weapons, he was most likely an experienced hitman.

No, I don't think he was a hitman. At a push I might go with military service but I really think he's just a murderous thug who may have spent some time at the shooting range so he knows how to handle a rifle.

But these are tough ass hoods... plus he had it like a tecnique, where as danny is untrained and kills brutal as all bloody hell..

Suffocating a tough strong dude who is in a gang, can be pretty difficult, plus, it was just too perfect..

lol, maybe I am, but Cash's character is one that makes you wonder..

Plus I was a little bored when I made this topic, but I think it has somewhat of a point in seeing what rockstar was trying to differentiate between cash and danny, trained and untrained, where cash and leo is trained and trained.

Cash is built like a brick shit house, I don't think we're supposed to know anything more than he's a criminal who's probably committed a murder horrific enough to warrant being on death row. Starkweather chose him because he knew he could stand up to his gangs. He's no pussy, but he's not a trained killer either. Just a meat head with a murderous intent.

imo.

I'm going with Zom-b. At a stretch, maybe some military training, but special ops or a professional hitman? Neh, too typical, especially for a video game protagonist. I like that we don't know, it gives us room to think about the character ourselves, and perhaps settling on the least climactic of all the possibilities is what makes him all the better character. He's just a bad guy, who's done bad things and is willing to continue doing bad things to live. If he was a special ops guy with training out the ass on how to kill people with his bare hands, eh, that's boring, it's been done before and the hitman idea is just too... contrived.

Yeah he was definitively a professional criminal, maybe not a killer...a Hitman but a bankrobber or something like that.

There are many other games that do similar things like that. A good example would be the guy you play as in the Doom games, they purposely made it so he never speaks in the games and he is never referred to by name. The game's designer, John Romero, said this was to increase player immersion: "There was never a name for the DOOM marine because it's supposed to be YOU." I think that's kinda what Rockstar was getting at, since Cash doesn't have any solid background information you have to bring your own ideas and interpretations that makes the story more interesting to you. So when someone says "I think Cash was in some kinda special ops group" they aren't wrong necessarily, it's just their interpretation of his character. But me personally, I think Cash was either some kind of serial murderer or career criminal.
