Manhunt 2 News | Manhunt 2 UK Review Roundup
We have managed to track down a bunch of UK print publication reviews for Manhunt 2, although we are (unfortunately) unable to provide scans of the reviews at the moment.

The Official PlayStation Magazine gave the PlayStation 2/PlayStation Portable versions of Manhunt 2 a score of 8/10. OPM UK originally had the exclusive rights to publish the first review of Manhunt 2 on the PlayStation formats last year, they promised the review in their forthcoming print several issues in a row, due to the conflict with the BBFC this obviously never came into fruition – until now that is.

Also don’t confuse OPM UK with the Official PlayStation 2 Magazine UK (OPS2M UK) where the editor basically wrote Manhunt 2 off due to its release being prevented by the various rating boards, resulting in me posting a not one but two page response.

NGamer have given the game a score of 80%. Those with a keen memory will recall that they were the first to review Manhunt 2 last year, pre-edit, back then they gave the game a score of 92%. The drop in the score is due to the game being excessively delayed and modified.

Issue 108 of PSM3 have given the PlayStation 2 version of the game a score of 80% which is down from the 83% score that they gave it last year, pre-modification.

And finally EDGE have scored the game a 6/10 in their Christmas issue.

Several UK based websites have also published a review for Manhunt 2, such as Nintendo Life who has rated the Nintendo Wii version of the game a 7/10 and summed the game up with the following:

It might be extremely dark in subject matter, but Manhunt 2 was refreshingly better than what I expected. Of course it's not free from problems, it has a 'PS2' last-gen feel, flawed basic combat controls and an 'shooter' element that simply detracts from what I found most interesting about the game; the stealth. The criticism for its lack of moral code is partly justified, although there is nothing worse here than in a lot of modern gore films. Certainly not suitable for children, some mature adults may find Manhunt a half decent stealthy action game with a relatively interesting plot.

Jolt gave the game a 6.9/10 rating and say that it falls short of the design of the original game:

Highly stylised, dark and immersive, Manhunt 2 is a study in brutality, depravity and the spiralling descent into madness. In terms of content, it’s no worse than the original, but it’s not really any better, either. The same can be said of gameplay, which should take you 10-12 hours to complete on a normal play through. But, whether through the passage of time or some questionable design elements, Manhunt 2 just doesn’t fully measure up to the original, which was bolder, darker, edgier and still stands the test of time if stealthy combat and gory executions are what you’re really after.

Boomtown have scored the PlayStation 2 version of the game a 6/10 and cite the games time of release for demninishing the score:

Manhunt 2 isn’t a bad game as such, and had a lot going for it, if it had been released in the PS2’s heyday. It wasn’t, and a year later, those polygons aren’t looking any smoother.

Overall the UK scores have been pretty darn good, all things considered, the game was fairly modified since their initial play through of the game and it is a year and a half late, plus the era of high definition gaming has well and truly commenced.

GTA News | GTA IV: "The Lost and Damned" Coming 02/09
Grand Theft Auto enthusiasts will be pleased to know that USA Today has the first details regarding the first episode pack for Grand Theft Auto IV, the pack is titled “The Lost and Damned” and is due for release through Xbox Live next February, no price has been set yet.

Johnny is a very different character than Niko, with a very different background. I can't go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released. But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City.

Microsoft reportedly paid $50 million for the two Grand Theft Auto IV episode packs to appear “exclusively” on their console. However, if I was a betting man I would place a wager on the content coming to the PlayStation 3 sooner or later, I would imagine they have bought themselves at least a 6 month exclusive clearance window and wouldn’t expect to see the first episode on Sony’s console until at least mission pack two has hit Xbox Live, or maybe they will do a re-release of the title and stick the mission packs on the Blu-Ray disk.

Considering the clout the PlayStation 3 has in Europe and Asia it would be a missed opportunity for the content not to unbind itself from its “exclusive” origins at some point or another. Just yesterday Sony announced that the PlayStation Network has “14 million active users” and when questioned recently regarding there being Grand Theft Auto IV DLC on their system Sony said that nothing remains exclusive forever. Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, San Andreas and Manhunt were all PlayStation 2 exclusives after all.

Manhunt 2 News | UK Sales Charts – Week Ending November 1st
Chart-Track has released details of the UK software charts for the week ending the 1st of November 2008.

The game was the fifth best selling PlayStation 2 game of the week and the 7th best selling PlayStation Portable title, all while it only managed to enter the Nintendo Wii software charts at 44.

But to put that in a bit more perspective all versions of Manhunt 2 failed to enter top 40 all format charts, granted it only counts one day of sales.
