Manhunt 2 News | PSM3 Reckon You Will Never Play Manhunt 2
The latest issue of UK publication PSM3 (issue 106) has compiled a list of ‘20 games that you'll never get to play’; making that list is Manhunt 2.

The magazine says:

What is it? Sequel to gory cult hit.
When is it due out? 2007.

What happened? Proved too much for the censors, it wasn’t really a surprise when the BBFC refused certification to Rockstars controversial sequel. Forum posters might have frothed at the mouth, hammering OMG across the Internet but there was no denying the board had a point when it citied the games unremitting bleakness and callousness in its accompanying statement.

Rockstar weren’t happy and lodged an official plea with Video Appeals Committee, their lawyer, Geoffrey Robertson, took a passive-aggressive stance, stating brilliantly that the BBFC's "reputation is not at stake" if it were we could show how, over the last century, they've been derided for some of the most stupid decisions in history". Rockstar ultimately won the appeal, overturning the BBFC's ban despite their subsequent attempt to appeal the appeal earlier this year. The only problem was, by that time GTA IV was on the way and Manhunt 2 was soon forgotten .With Rockstar currently focusing on PS3 it looks likely this will never see the light of day.

I wouldn’t take this as conclusive evidence to suggest the game isn’t coming out, but at the same time you have got to figure that time is not on the games side. Perhaps the most disappointing thing about this article is that the magazine is clearly not in the loop about the status of the game. That implies that the game is either months out (still!) or Rockstar plan on giving it a very quiet release. Both of which are very unfortunate.

The magazine was one of the few UK publications to have printed a review for Manhunt 2. In their September 2007 (issue 91) print they awarded the game a score of 83/100.

Manhunt News | Thai MOPH Name 10 Most Dangerous Videogames
Thailand's Ministry of Public Health has released a list of what it believes to the '10 most dangerous videogames'. Never one to be excluded from such a prestigious list, Manhunt has once again managed to nab itself a mention.

Grand Theft Auto
Manhunt
Scarface
50 Cent: Bulletproof
300: The Videogame
The Godfather
Killer 7
Resident Evil 4
God of War
Hitman: Blood Money

This list is apparently in response to the murder of a Thai taxi driver several weeks ago, the blame of which is being pointed at Grand Theft Auto IV.
